Ελλάδα κατέχει τη δεύτερη θέση παγκοσμίως στην στρατηγική προμηθειών έργων Συμπράξεων Δημόσιου και Ιδιωτικού Τομέα

Greece has been recognized as the second best country globally for optimal procurement strategies in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, according to the “Benchmarking Infrastructure Development 2024” Report from the World Bank, as stated by Nikos Papathanasis, the Alternate Minister of National Economy and Finance. The assessment criteria for this ranking included factors such as economic efficiency, transparency, and a healthy competitive environment.

The Ministry of National Economy and Finance has highlighted that the Public-Private Partnerships department has implemented innovative financing methods for these projects. The involvement of European banks like the EIB and EBRD, alongside the integration of European and private funding sources and a variety of financial tools, has positioned Greece as a leader in the financing of PPP initiatives.

Papathanasis emphasized that this achievement, recognized by the World Bank, aligns with other positive evaluations of Greece’s economic trajectory by both international and European institutions. He described it as a sign of confidence in the country and a testament to the effectiveness of the government’s approach under Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

He further underscored that this ranking not only reflects the successful execution of targeted plans but also serves as a response to concerns regarding transparency and efficiency in the tendering processes associated with Public-Private Partnerships. The continuous logic of maximizing every available euro is aimed at attracting investments, enhancing infrastructure, improving citizens’ daily lives, and generating new job opportunities, ultimately focusing on income growth for all.
